Brian Daccord is the president and founder of Stop It Goaltending. He is a former Goaltending Coach of the Boston Bruins coaching on the staff of Stanley Cup winning coaches Pat Burns and Mike Keenan as well as Robbie Ftorek. Brian is currently the goaltending consultant to Mannheim Adler in the German DEL.

Brian’s book Hockey Goaltending has sold over 40,000 copies worldwide and he was featured in The Hockey News as one of the NHL’s 'Top Goalie Coaches with Crease Clout'. His current clients include top NHL, AHL, ECHL, College and Junior goalies. 

Brian is the founder and president of Stop It Goaltending, which conducts goalie programs and clinics as well as private training sessions for youth and elite goaltenders. Brian is also a former coach and player at Merrimack College (NCAA Div.I Hockey East) and played seven seasons of Pro hockey in Switzerland. He has enjoyed success coaching at every level of Youth hockey as well as US Prep School, Junior, College and Pro.  He is a Masters Level Coach with USA Hockey, and holds a Masters Degree in Sports Science.

John Carratu is currently a Goaltending Director at Stop it Goaltending as well as the Goalie Coach for the Northeastern University Huskies Division I Men's Hockey Team.  Today John trains NHL, Minor Pro and NCAA Division I goalies as well as goaltenders of all abilities at the Youth level.

In college, John led his NCAA Division II Plymouth State team to the ECAC playoffs while graduating with a degree in Education. While entering the teaching profession in the Seattle area, John began his career as a Goaltending Consultant. He was a member of the USA Hockey Pacific District selection process and coached goaltenders that played in the NAHL, BCJHL, and NCAA as well.

 

In addition to his expertise in teaching the position of goaltending, another strength of John’s is his extensive knowledge of goaltending equipment. While in the Seattle area he owned and operated a hockey shop which catered primarily to goaltenders. John also contributed a chapter titled, Gearing Up to Stop Pucks in the second edition of Brian Daccord's top selling book, Hockey Goaltending.

 

Upon his return to New England, John became an Asst. Coach with the Salem Ice Dogs in the IJHL and helped lead them to two playoff berths. He coached at numerous goaltending camps and clinics before bringing his knowledge and enthusiasm to Stop It Goaltending. John has also served as a goaltending consultant to numerous teams and organizations in addition to Northeastern University, including US Prep School power Cushing Academy, Nobles and Greenough in the ISL as well as Phillips Andover Academy. john@stopitgoaltending.com

 

 

David Schultz is Stop It Goaltending’s Regional Director based out of Manchester, NH and is the Goaltending Coach for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. UNH plays in Hockey East and routinely contends for the NCAA Division I national championship. David played college hockey at Worcester State and in high school led Pinkerton Academy to the State Championship semifinals. He has been working for Stop It Goaltending training programs for the past five years and was also a student at Stop It from the age of twelve.

 

David has worked with goalies of all levels including Cushing Academy, the Beantown Bullies, and the New England Stars at the Junior hockey level. Coach Schultz has a true passion and energy for the sport of hockey and goaltending and is tremendously popular with young goalies. A strength of his is the energy he brings every time he is on the ice and his ability to connect with goalies in a way that makes it fun to learn and get better.

Brian Robinson is currently a director and video coordinator at Stop It Goaltending and the goaltending coach for the Bentley University Falcons. The Falcons compete in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Conference. Brian began his career at SIG by assisting in the devlopment of a video scouting system for NHL teams.  He played a pivotal role in developing the GCG website and gained more practical experience with Boston Bruins while completing his degree in communications from Worcester State.  Brian currently conducts lessons and video sessions at both our Woburn and Foxboro locations. 

Most recently, Brian worked closely with Stop It Goaltending president Brian Daccord to develop an on and off-ice video test which quantifies a goaltenders skill development as well as creating a service that allows goaltenders to receive critical game analysis via the internet.  Brian began training with Stop It Goaltending in 1999 and before playing college hockey at Worcester State, he served as captain of Pentucket High School where he was an All-League Goaltender his Senior year.

Jim McNiff is a Stop It Goaltending director based out of our Foxboro Sports Center location and the goaltending coach for Providence College. The Friars are a member of Hockey East and NCAA Division I Hockey. Jim also serves as the manager of our Stop It Goaltending Equipment Store located at the FSC.  Jim played his college hockey at Merrimack College where he was coached by Stop It Goaltending president Brian Daccord. 

Jim was a standout since he began playing the position at age seven. A three-year starter for Don Bosco High School, Jim served as team captain and led his team to a 1992 appearance in the Elite Eight State Tournament held annually at the Boston Garden. Jim has been conducting private goalie lessons for the past seven years and has served as goaltending coach for several youth hockey organizations and teams. Mark Hanson is the goaltending coach of the Harvard University Womens Program and is a director at the SIG Development Center in Foxboro, MA.  Mark has worked with elite goalies at the Pro, College, Junior, Prep and HS levels goalies at the GCG Prospects Week, the Stop It Goaltending DNHL and PGD programs and through private lessons. 

Mark conducts private lessons with SIG during the season and in the summer is active with SIG camps and clinics at both our Merrimack and Foxboro locations.   Along with a long list of clients coach Hanson has also served as the goalie coach at Stoughton High School and the Massachusetts Spitfires and is the father of three children (all goalies).  Mark has 20 years of experience training  top goalies as well as goalies at the early stages in their development. Jim Healey is a director at Stop It Goaltending and the goaltending coach at Merrimack College in Hockey East. Healey, who was named to Merrimack’s All-Decade Team, appeared in 91 games for the Warriors from 2003-07, backstopping Merrimack to a playoff appearance in 2003-04, his freshman season. He was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team in 2004 and to the All-Academic team in 2006.

Jim was also voted Merrimack’s Most Valuable Player in 2007 by his teammates. While at Merrimack Jim trained in the summer with Stop It Goaltending in the PGD program with current NHL goalies Brian Boucher and Cory Schneider.  At Merrimack, Jim coaches SIG goalies and NHL draft pick Joe Cannata and Sam Marotta. Jim’s tutelage has helped Joe and Sam backbone Merrimack to one of the top ten college hockey teams in the nation in 2010-2011.

 

 

Dave Flint has been an instructor at Stop It Goaltending since 1999. Dave is currently the Head Coach of the Division I Northeastern University Women's Hockey program as well as Assistant Coach of the US National Women's Team, and is responsible for the development of Team USA's Olympic, U-22 and U-18 teams. 

During the 2006-2007 season, Dave served as Head Coach of the St Anselm's Women's program where his team posted its third-straight 20-win season, finished with a 24-3-0 overall record and claimed its first-ever ECAC East Regular Season title. Coach Flint was named as the ECAC East Coach of the Year for the second straight season.


A certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS),  Dave graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (formerly North Adams State) in 1993 with a degree in Biology with a concentration in Sports Medicine.

 

 

Justin Eddy is Stop It Goaltending's Regional Director located in Hamden, Connecticut.  Justin is a former professional goaltender and Quinnipiac Bobcat, as well as the current Goaltending Coach for the Quinnipiac University Men's Division I Hockey Team.  

Justin became the first Bobcat ever to earn an NHL contract when in 2004 he signed with the Washington Capitals. Justin played Junior hockey in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars before heading to Quinnipiac University, where in 2001-2002 the Bobcats made it to the NCAA National Tournament. In college and as a professional Justin trained at Stop It Goaltending under former Boston Bruins goaltending coach Brian Daccord.  Sean Walsh Sean Walsh is a director at Stop It Goaltending and the goalie coach at UMASS Boston. Sean Spent two seasons as an assistant at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. and helped lead the Vikings to their best record in school history (16-11-1). His duties included recruiting coordinator, day-to-day operations while also overseeing the goaltending unit which led the NCCA among D-III institutions in shutouts in 2008-09. Before coaching at Lawrence University, the Tewksbury, MA native spent one season at Adrian College. Sean began his coaching career working with Stop It Goaltending and has done so for the past eight years.

 

Along with his work in New England at Stop It Goaltending and UMASS Boston, Sean has been involved in the Massachusetts Satellite program as well as the USA Hockey National Development Camps.  Sean has had the responsibility of assisting in the selection of Massachusetts goalies to attend the camp and then during the camp works for USA hockey in evaluating the best goalies across the country.

 

 

 

 

Brion O'Connor has been a Director at Stop It Goaltending since 2008.  Brian is a Boston-based writer and owner of Inspired Ink Communications. He is most recognizable as the Goalie Guru through his column in the New England Hockey Journal as well as his blog and Youtube video page. Brian works primarily with the PGD and DNHL programs in the summer and SIG private lessons throughout the hockey season. 

Brian is also a long-time hockey coach and goalie specializing in goaltending instruction at every age level. He is as comfortable working with SIG pro and college goalies as he is with younger goalies in the early stages of their athletic development.
